A hybrid car is a combination of an electric motor and a gasoline engine, while an electric car runs only on an electric motor and does not have a gasoline engine. Hybrid cars use the gasoline engine and electric motor simultaneously or separately, depending on the driving conditions, to maximize fuel efficiency. Electric cars rely solely on the battery-powered electric motor for propulsion and must be recharged. Generally, hybrid cars have smaller battery packs and engines than electric cars and can travel farther than electric cars without recharging. On the other hand, electric cars produce zero emissions during operation and have lower maintenance costs compared to hybrid cars.
